Paul is a 16-year veteran of project management, with experience performing the "trifecta" of project management as a program manager, portfolio manager and project manager. In all of his PM assignments, he's been asked to do some level of business analysis work. He grew his career through the IT ranks, transitioning steadily from software development to systems analysis to business analysis to project manager. As a program manager in the ever-challenging health care industry of today, Paul is finding his ability to intake, analyze, frame and present vital to the project management responsibilities he bears. Outside of work, Paul is a frequent contributor to ProjectManagement.com and a regional speaker on project management soft skills. Paul has presented his "Mind over Matter: Are You Managing a Project and a Subject?" topic many times for his local PMI chapter. This talk gives you a gauge on how deep you have to go into the subject matter when managing a project. The PM-BA connection is truly Paul's passion and one he can comment on from experience.
Paul's inspiration for creating this blog came from his recent well-read article "To BA or Not to BA - What's a PM to Do?":
