I was audited by PMI two years ago when I filled out my application to take my PMP. They did not give me clear understanding of what needed work. Now I want to try again yet I am hesitant. Is there anyone that can give me more insight on what was wrong with my application? Saving Changes...

Did they give you any indication? Usually it is just a matter of using the right wording. If you have a PMP friend or there is someone in your chapter, ask them to review. Or you can look at their application to get a good understanding of the level of detail required.
I had a friend who was audited and I helped her make some minor changes and it went through fine. When I did my first application, I looked at a co-worker's application to see how she presented the information.
Several people on this board have been audited. It is random and happens frequently. Don't stress too much about it.

Thank you for your feedback. I have a college who has had her PMP for years that I can ask to review my application for me. Its just causing me minor anxiety because I really do not wan to get denied again.

Hi Muriel.. Yes a friend of mine also got audited as well... The typical guidelines for the PMP exam application and required work experience needs to use active Project management vocabulary...
Try to use Objective/Scope, Deliverables & Outcome for each project..
You might want to download the PMP Application Assistant workbook (Google it) as it will help you organize the info for your application and provide you with a bunch of example activity descriptions which are useful when constructing your project summaries.
I've recommended it to a bunch of the folks I've taken through PMP prep training...

Hi Muriel, what I found is that when you fill in the application form, use words and terminology (that relates to your project experience) straight out of the task list within the exam content outline. If you can map those tasks to your own experience, it will help a lot. Saving Changes...

When selected for an audit, PMI will send additional information on why or what is required. I, myself, was audited as well. I simply had to have all managers sign off on my submission. But, during the process, I did have questions. I call PMI and spoke with someone. They were very helpful and gave me the clarification needed. I would certainly not take it as a reason to give up the effort.

People are normally selected for audit randomly by the system and this doesn't mean something is wrong with your application but you just need to provide more documentation. Other times, they contact you in person to amend something in your application but it is very unusual that they reject your application without you knowing why otherwise how can you improve. Your best best is to have your fellow PMP colleague review your application. Good Luck ! Saving Changes...
