PMP Eligibility Requirements - it is mentioned that, Minimum five years/60 months unique non-overlapping professional project management experience during which at least 7,500 hours were spent leading and directing the project*
That is correct, this is why Kiron suggested CAPM which doesn't require as much experience and it is mostly knowledge based. Saving Changes...

Here's the questions I ask all of my PMP exam prep students--
1. Have you ever worked on any "short term" efforts, like a) process improvement, b) systems upgrade, c) renovated a room, d) developed a new product, etc.?
2) Have you worked with internal or external clients on short-term or long-term contracts involving the creation of a new product/service/process or improvement of an existing one?
3) Have you evaluated the potential issues related to the creation or improvement of a new product/process/service?
If you have done any of those, you've probably been on a project and didn't even know you were...

My own path to PMP started with studying for and sitting for the CAPM exam and getting my CAPM certification in 2009. I started tracking my project involvement at that time, and was fortunate to have a manager that allowed me to manage some major projects. At the end of 2012, I applied for the PMP exam. In January 2013 I obtained my PMP certification. I will always be grateful to Michael Brown, the manager that encouraged and supported my own pursuit of Project Management Professional certification.
I wish you all the best, Sunil, in your pursuit

You can start with CAPM and seriously you might struggle with pmp if you do not have experience. Saving Changes...

I think somebody should come up with a way to breed a very large shrimp. That way, you could ride him, then, after you camped at night, you could eat him. How about it, science?
