I had a friendly discussion yesterday with someone who mentioned that whenever he sees a blog that starts with a number (like 3 easy steps to ..... ) he gets annoyed, closes the browser window and moves on to do something else. I don't agree with him personally, but as someone who likes to write I would love to know what annoys my readers to do less of it (or maybe none of it). For all of the bloggers and readers in this community, do you have any blogging pet peeves? Saving Changes...

I tend to enjoy shorter, more concise articles. I don't want to read a bloated blog just for the sake of word count. I follow a lot of writers on Medium. I find those to be well-written and relatively concise.
My bloated blog posts aren't to hit word count levels, Mine are from an inability to be concise.
I wrote one post, realized it could be split into 4 posts, by the time I was done I had 4 1500+ word posts. - from a post that started off with about 1,000 words.
One reason I decided to try blogging was to see if I could help my own writing ability out. I want to send emails that don't need TL/DR tags and I want them to make sense being that short. Saving Changes...
1. Grammatical and spelling mistakes - if it's worth publishing, it's worth proof-reading.
2. Blatant plagiarism

I use Grammarly to help.
I have read the same blog post of mine 10 times and found new mistakes each time that the free version of Grammarly didn't catch.
But like you, I hate reading blogs with lots of typos, spelling mistakes, grammar errors. The last thing I want to do is be that author...

How do you find Grammarly Joshua? I have really bad spelling/grammar so I'm thinking it will help me in my university studies.

Very long long long articles. Try to get to the point without writing a short story. In some cases the article will be long, but keeping it to the point is what I prefer.

Regarding mistakes, I tend to focus on the content. I'm not reading the article as a professor. Plus, many write articles in their second or third language. I agree it should be proofread, but things will be overlooked at times. Anyway, just my opinion. Saving Changes...

I guess my pet peeves are blogs with crappy content. Oh and another is titles that have nothing to do with the blog content. I know what you mean about "like 3 easy steps to", there's just so much of it going around. Meanwhile, check out my previous two blogs posts:
I know you are a great blogger. How do I know you ask? For me, humor is the antidote to all my pet peeves, and you are good at it 😉

Hello Vivek, I am pretty new to home automation and was wondering if you could direct me to you blog so i can gain more knowledge. I am trying to automate my home and would love to read some authentic articles about that. Thanks.

I just use the free version as well. It seems to do a good job. It also can be added to everything I type online. For example - grammerly doesn't like that I spelled its name wrong in this sentence and it is alerting me to the issue with an angry red underline and a red circle with a 1 in the corner.
It does miss some things, and some things I know it is not right about. It still helps.
