I am doing some research and I am curious to hear what roadblocks you have faced. If there are examples you can share, please include them in your comments. Saving Changes...
When it comes to Communication skills, I think everyone can improve on their communication skills with their team. Are they looking at the best way to ask the question? Are they looking at how their team needs to be communicated to?
In my experience, there are substantial miscommunications which can occur from very simple events. Misunderstanding how questions are asked, what the answer to those questions could be.
An example from a project a few years ago was around deadlines. I was working with teams in US and Europe and we were talking timelines. The project was a longterm one and when discussing dates the US team would say 2/10 and in Europe we'd say 10/02. At one point a Junior PM in the group came up with some massive risks about overrunning schedules and delays and it was a simple miscommunication regarding which date format we'd use in the project!
One of my favourite sayings is: Assuming things make ASS-es of U and Me. Be clear, factual and reiterate everything.

Thank you Emily! Would you say that the challenge is to spend the time and effort to be clear enough?

Determining the right engagement strategy and style with different stakeholders and team members; staying true to yourself and the project while adapting enough to satisfy and convey effectively with others.
I like to share my communication style (tools, too) and provide an expectation of myself and others, gauge their response, and essentially ask if that will work for them. I aim to be clear in the who, what, why, when, how.

Thank you Andrew! would you say that adapting to a variety of communication styles and media is the challenge?
I believe that stakeholders take what is said to them and when they actually do it, they cannot due to reasons which they know in the first place. ultimately, time is wasted

Thank you Muthukrishnan! Would you say that the challenge is to deal with the lack of listening skills from them (receiver)? or the lack of clearness from the sender?

Yes, that's one of the challenges but you need to have an open mind to look at how you're communicating and what you might need to be changing.

Hi Gonzalo, one question that came to my mind is when there are personal issues along the team members and those issues somehow arise during a meeting or on the daily job, and the project somehow gets compromissed.
Those issues may come from different points of view about technical aspects, project purposes or other hidden agenda that affects the ambience where the project takes place

First of all you need to be sincere to yourself, and try to understand other person's perspective. In my experience some people use this pattern when they want the other person to behave in a certain way. For example they might say, “If I were you, I would you these things". Depending on the situation we may have to use different communication styles.
