I will be starting a major enterprise migration from Windows 7 to Windows 10 in a healthcare setting. Does any one have a sample plan or timeline from a similar project? And any lessons learned to share?
Hi Robert, Although there were many changes required to bring underlying infrastructure, tools and software up to date, I'd say the biggest change was to how Windows 10 is serviced. The Windows as a Service model means that the organization has to have a team that can take on the (likely) annual updates to Win 10 devices, the testing of critical or important apps prior to the updates being pushed, tracking all of that testing, etc. For a large install footprint like ours, that can be quite an ask. It also means that the handover to ops has to happen early in the deployments (or before starting) vs. near the end as we'd normally see on a project. Saving Changes...
Hi Catherine, We are deploying to 83,000 Windows 7 devices over the next two years. Let me know your direct email and I'll send you our template.
Hi Catherine! I was really hoping that you could share that template with me as well. I have been thrown into a migration project and any advice and tools would be great! Saving Changes...
