PMI and Prince2 are probably the most well known project management standards.

My manager says "no surprises Ash". So I'm forbidden from using Rami's standard lol.
LOL It was a joke because I noticed some individuals do manage their projects this way.

Hi Rami. Yeah I got that - just trying to extend the chuckles...

(Somewhat off topic, but...) Seriously I think one of the most difficult parts of project management is dealing with the surprises. So in reality "managing by surprises" is perhaps not too far from the truth! (Sometimes the surprises are positive and with the right guidance these can help drive the value of a project even further than expected.)

PM4A - Project Management For All. It's a somewhat simplified re-imagining of PRINCE2.
Also, there is the Praxis Framework published by APM.
Interesting, thanks Conrad.

From a UK perspective;

MSP - Managing Successful Programmes
APM - Association for Project Management - body of knowledge and qualifications
Praxis framework - free body of knowledge, methodology, competency framework and capability maturity model.
Standards and frameworks from the UK are great, it's where I started with Prince2 way back.

Yes, PMI and Prince2 are probably the main and most recognized standards.
On a smaller scale with Supply Chain perspective, Continuous Improvement project with Lean Six-Sigma and DMAIC methodologies.

The standard of no standards (a.k.a. accidental project management) :-)
Man, and how we do have our share of this "standard"...

IPMA, I think mostly popular in Europe.
In fact this was one of the options I was considering for certification but finally decided for PMI :-)
