Would like to seek advice about stakeholders.
The organizational environment exerts a variety of pressures on an organization and its managers. It is important to have awareness and understanding of stakeholders in the internal environment, as well as external environment.
The challenge for project/functional managers is to develop and sustain strong relationships with stakeholders locally and globally in the complex and changing organizational environments. The challenge for stakeholders is to discover or develop ways in which they can work together with the project/functional managers for a common end.
How do you engage with internal/external stakeholders to develop and sustain strong relationships?
From stakeholders' perspectives, what are the ways/strategies to ensure the working relationships are smooth and projects are on track?
Thank you,
Pang DX Saving Changes...

Sergio, happy to know about Solution Selling, Power Base Selling and LAMP methods.
Creating shared alignment towards the project's goals and its success is a key responsibility for PMs. This starts with stakeholder identification and analysis but then the hard work really begins of using influence & persuasion to try to bring everyone on board...

Program management has particular emphasis on stakeholder benefit realization. One useful approach is to identify the "job" that the stakeholder is trying to accomplish and understand how that stakeholder uses metrics in describing and improving that job they are trying to get done. First of all, the basics are very important, such as: stakeholder identification, analysis, understanding of requirements, impact etc. In terms of building strong relationships, all affected stakeholders need to be engaged at the earliest possible opportunity to ensure they are active participants and contributors to the project / change. It is important to work collaboratively with stakeholders and the best ways/strategies will depend on stakeholder preferences / how critical the project / change is for them. Ask them what they want to see / why / when / where / how etc . They are the ones who can answer these questions best. Saving Changes...
