Today I attended the PM Symposium sponsored by the DC PMI Chapter (which was also celebrating its 40th year). There were some great speakers:
Stefana Saxton our keynote with "Go Big or Go Home: Project Leadership of the Future"
Michael Milutis presented "Know Thyself, Brand Thyself: The Secrets of Self Actualization and Workplace Engagement" - this was great and a much needed boost for me.
Anthony Reed had "Managing Tomorrow's Professional Challenge Like a Marathon" - this was an interesting take.
S.L Young presented our lunchtime session on "Workplace Bullying: It doesn't Lead to Healthy Work Environments"
Crystal Richards had a great presentation "Choose Your Own Adventure: You're the Star of Your Journey" - it was very upbeat and useful.
And finally Belinda Goodrich discussed "Achieve BIG by Working Small!"
It was a great day. If you ever have a chance to hear any of these speakers in an upcoming conference, please go.

Dinah: Did any of the speakers address subjects pertaining to PMO management? It sounds like Stefana Saxton's and Belinda Goodrich's talks might have done so.

Actually, none of the sessions I went to were related to the PMO. Truthfully, I was focused that day on myself. I have been going through a bit of confusion in my career and was drawn to speakers who were discussion career development.
Looking at the other presentations, I did not see anything specific to PMO. There was one on Agile Portfolio Management and Project and Portfolio Management Fundamentals. The full agenda is at https://pmiwdc.org/symposium-agenda-2018-timeblocks

Cool, thanks for the share, Dinah.
Bullying in the workplace comes in many shapes and forms and creates toxicity within an otherwise healthy environment.

Thanks for share.

I like the English Idiom "Go Big or Go Home" ( do it for 100%, do it as championship and do it for the best you can" if you don not believe of success, it is butter to go home.

Dinah - It was a well-organized event and crowd was huge. Unfortunately, I missed you there. Anthony Reed's presentation was very inspiring.

His statements about marathon were funny as well as had deep meanings. Like,

...if you are lost, then Remember to Enjoy and Have Fun.
