I am a Mechanical Engineer having 6 years of experience in Project Execution & Maintenance. Is PMP certification will be helpful for me

Since you are in Project Execution and Maintenance, PMP certification will definitely help you. PMI has given the importance for both waterfall and agile projects, you can apply any methodology for your project execution and maintenance.

The only thing that matter to make the effort in getting a certification is your own estimation about future market demands. Which is the market demands in the market where you are working? In my case that is what I did each time I decide to go for a certification.

Use Rita Mulcahy exam prep book, it is very good besides PMBOK
