Project assigning

You are assigned on a project. The very next day, your supervisor tells you that some other PM will take up the project and you have bene shifted to other project? What does this indicate?

From my experience, it means your skills are needed else where due to their needs.

Unless you had a disastrous 1st day, it either means that they're reassigning projects to better align them with skills, or they might be trying to balance the workload better.

Agree with above. No need to read into it or over analyze. Skills and experience can often be shifted to accommodate needs.

It's also easiest if you're just getting started, rather than you've done a lot of work that needs to transition to someone else. Starting in the middle can be tough.

It could mean many things or nothing. What it means or what you can deduce will obviously depend upon your situation.

It might mean they want you looking at something more important. Or less important. Or they just found someone they want driving the project more, which might not be a reflection on you. Or it might.

Did they move you on to something better or worse? Can you ask why?

It could mean two things: the new project manager is deemed as a better fit for your current project, or you are a better fit for the new project...or both of you are better suited to the projects you will now be assigned to.

In addition to the above, it could mean that the person who allocated you to the project has made the wrong decision to start with and they are simply rectifying it!
