On a professional level, did you achieve your goals for this year ? What exactly did you achieve (i.e. New Certifications, Degree, Career) ? Saving Changes...

Hi Rami: Good question. From a professional perspective, during the week of Thanksgiving I try to reflect back on my career, what I am grateful for, the people I am thankful for, the opportunities I have enjoyed and set new professional goals. This last year I stepped into a new company and stopped working for 1 hospital to serve 16 hospitals. It was a year of new projects, growth, learning and creating relationships with people all across the country. I was stretched for sure - but I am genuinely grateful for the opportunities and for reaching much higher goals than I would have originally set for myself.

Hi Lori, thanks for your input - That is really great and I am so happy for you. It is important to be grateful of course - I wish you more and more success.
Good question, Rami, but for those of us following waterfall approaches, we still have a month to go in 2018!
Key highlights for me were:
- Attaining my PSM II certification
- Delivering two webinars for projectmanagement.com which have received thousands of views since they were originally presented
- Being able to go back as a contracting agile coach to my former employer, thus opening up more opportunities for the future

Thank you Kiron - I assume people who are following waterfall approach will know what they are going to do within this last month :-)
Those are great achievements and you forgot one more: You gave back a lot for this community here. Thanks for this and best if luck in the upcoming new year.

Thanks Rami! I've finally climbed up to the top five for two of the four headliners lists on the site so maybe my goal next year will be to get to three!

Let's see. The big ones were achieving the RMP certification and transitioning to the PMO. Since joining the PMO, I have been able to improve processes, develop templates, create training and guide project managers. I have become active in the local PMI chapter. I have actually attended several monthly meetings. More networking. And I have been working on branding myself with new business cards, a video and new resume format. This is all to prepare me for the next step in my career when I am ready. And I have been mentoring others. There have been a few stumbles, like for the first time in my life, I failed a test :0. The ITIL Service Design certification. The failures only make you stronger though.

Thanks for your input. Did attending local chapter meetings boost your networking significantly ? In what way ?
As for failing, it is not actually a bad thing if you look at the full half of the cup because FAIL = First Attempt In Learning so as long as you learned then you did not fail.
This year I discovered this user forum, which have enriched me with knowledge only possible with diverse experiences of contributing members. So, Big Thank you to all.

With all this dedicated, commitment and giving back, I am sure you will be without a doubt.
This year I obtained the
1) Certified Scrum Master
2) Certified Scrum Product Owner
3) ITIL Foundations for Service Management
4) Team Kanban Practitioner
Became involved with multiple organizations and affiliations where I am growing in knowledge base.
I was able to incorporate them into my everyday functions for the first time - and look forward to 2019 to even greater contributions.
