What are the best Leadership books you've read, and been able to apply successfully for Project Management success?
Background: PMI's "Pulse of the Profession In-Depth Report" on the topic "Navigating Complexity" featured results of a very important study on the most critical skills to manage complex projects to success.
Not surprisingly, "Leadership" was the #1 skill with 81% responses.
The next closest were each at just 9%: "Technical Project Management Skills" and "Strategic and Business Management Skills."

Nice thread. Karthik, it would be greatly helpful if you kept a consolidated list in the topic section. Though I too am not surprised by the results, I am by the drop-off.

I really enjoyed "The Wisdom of Crowds". It's an interesting contrast to what I held as conventional wisdom that decision by committee is inherently bad. It describes how under the right conditions, the inputs of many non-experts can be more effective than a few gurus.

@Keith Novak: Thanks a ton for adding "Wisdom of the Crowds" by James Surowiecki to this list of Leadership books which will be extremely useful to PMs in delivering Project Success.
I've really enjoyed reading this book, and frequently recommend it to attendees of my PMP Prep traning sessions.

That book is indeed a classic. It prompted me to buy and read all of Robin Sharma's motivational books. Of these, I particularly liked "The Leader Who Had No Title," and "Who Will Cry When You Die?"
