I’m less than 50 questions away to obtaining it. Just curious as to others doing it and those who have, are there still more practice questions, or a plan to update them for new editions?

Wow, good for all of you! Congrats!
I don’t have ambitions there, I guess I leave this one to the real gurus ;)
In my case it was not ambition so much as trying to maintain a level of knowledge, as I was very active in answering questions during my extended unemployment. I used the challenge as a way to "keep my head in the game" as it were.

Even if I have a badge that says so?

I found them helping me remember parts I don't use often. Nice little refreshers.

I'm only at the Rocket Surgeon level. Does it let you answer some and then close out and come back another time..........or do you have to answer all at one time?

You don't have to answer them all in a single try. You can close out at any time and the system will keep track of your progress.

Yes long time ago it is very easy you only have to answer 1000 questions correctly but there are more questions to be answered so I guess we need more level beyond the Guru like senior Guru or 1st Dan, 2nd Dan up to 8 Dan

William: I attained the "Guru" badge a very long time back.
However, as Sante righty pointed out, one can never be completely a "Guru" in any topic.
My mother tongue, Tamil (the world's oldest living language) has a famous truism: "Kattradhu Kai Mann Alavu. Kallaadhadhu, Ulagalavu."
Loosely translated, it means, "What we have learnt will fit into the palm of our hand, whereas what we haven't learnt is eqivalent to the learnt is equivalent to the world!"
The humility to be a continuous learner is, after all, a key quality of any leader!
