Which are the best open source tools for Production Management of Applications that includes Enterprise Applications or Websites etc for reporting production incidents and tracking them till closure?
I have just started working with a new Client who is using ASANA, but I am doubtful if that can provide a seamless management of production environment, to report any issues, assign to team members, log corrective answers and closure and also eventually provide reporting as required. I understand your concern as Asana is more of a project planning tool than a bug tracking tool.
I've worked with MantisBT and GLPI which are both buck tracking open source tools (GLPI is more than that as it's an ITSM but has a bug tracking module).
I found them both convenient to manage incident on multiple platforms (websites, ERP, BI). That being said, I had to build for both an external reporting datamart to plug in the company's BI solution to produce and automate meaningful reports (backlog evolution, trend analysis and so on).

Hi Guillaume, MantisBT looks interesting, but how does the pricing work/what's it cost? It's a little confusing as in many places it says free/open source but on the download page it is called a "free trial" without any hint as to what the post-trial costs are. Best regards

MantisBT is open source and free as long as you support the infrastructure, that is if you download the software and manage the installation from A to Z yourself, on your own server and database server. A mysql server and a windows server did the trick for my former company, though I wouldn't be able to tell you more about this as I was not in charge of the installation. But I remember it as fully customizable this way (unlimited users, unlimited projects, your server and database being the only limit).
You have to pay from the moment you choose MantisBT saas version called MantisHub were you basically have to pay a hassle free (theoretically) service.

Thanks Guillame, most appreciated, the website is a bit confusing about that. Also the "demos" page of it on the website doesn't actually have any demos, alas. I've found a few on youtube but most are about installing it, not the user angle. I'll keep looking.
