Hello,

I'm currently pursuing my Master's degree in Project Management and as part of my thesis, my project plan is regarding an animation feature film. I want to know if someone from the industry has applied the PMI standards to their film projects? What lessons learned could you share with me? I'm open to any experience related to film or TV production.

Thank you!

There was an experience in Argentina in Campanela´s film named "Metegol". I think you can reach them. My personal experience was I used it as project manager for television and short movies creation. If you ask me, there is no difference with things you can find into any other type of projects. For example, in this environment, stakeholder management is a must because the characteristics of people that work in this environment but is the same into any project.

An adaptive lifecycle might fit film making more than a predictive one so that you have the opportunity to inspect & adapt over the life of the final product with small groups of "customers".

That way you can also ensure that if budget is running low or sudden constraints emerge, you've delivered highest value scenes/themes.
