In early stage of my career, our team leader complained of one team member to Project manager. She complained that this team member is not good team player because he always disagrees with her opinions. So please drop him from my team. But both were vital for team and project success.. In this case what should PM do to keep team together ?

Funny thing is my previous manager told me in a meeting when I contradicted something he said (because it was flat out false) that "we don't debate here". A work environment where you cannot give alternative opinions, be transparent and present truths, is one that is on the fast train to nowhere.

That person must think very highly of themselves and their opinion to feel compelled to ostracize someone because they disagree.

It comes down to facilitating and coaching good team practices. Formulate a team charter or working agreement. Help to instill a code of ethics within the team and reward such behaviors.

Thanks to all you for sharing views.
But that team member was moved from our project to another and new one filled his place in project .

Other team member did not get any information on this from PM or Team Leader why he was moved .
