In my experience when the transit system needs to make major work they never close.

Most of the work is done at night when service is close. In some special work, a station would be closed with service passing through. Additional service will be provided to that station from previous and next station bus shuttle.

Have major work happen in your region (not that you manage).
What was done?
Was the service interrupted for weeks, months, years?
What kind of temporary service was provided for replacement?
Was the travel time maintained by the temporary services? by what margin?

Would love to hear from major transit system modification in your city.

Thanks

Well, I absolutely agree with you that when any major job is to be carried out with any transits system, previous or next station extend their service till the job has been completed.

In my city, main bus station needs to be modified with the modern technology and lots of work to be done right from the demolition to new construction and a pathway.

So local authority has developed a new temporary station near by to that location prior to one month before that old one get demolished so that city people who are travelling everyday to the other town used to that service.

That's who it works.

Hitesh,

Thanks, yes the bus stations are important in any transportation network. Often less of a problem to repair, since a bus is free to go on a regular road, not a dedicated infrastructure.
