I've been a Project Manager, of sorts, since the 1990's. We didn't call it that back then, we just worked together to get things done and added it to our regular duties. The question I have is this: is there any way to get credit for the projects that I did over the years? I'm fairly OCD and have kept good records. If you are talking about having experience from 20 years ago being counted on your PMP exam application, not so much. The handbook provides guidelines on what is acceptable.

If you are referring to the PMP exam requirements, then these projects will not help you meet the required PM experience in terms of the number of PM hours.
You should have 4,500 hours of leading and directing projects (if you at least have a bachelor's degree or equivalent) or 7,500 hours (if you have high school or equivalent). All project management experience must have been accrued within the last eight
consecutive years prior to your application submission.
