PMI launched relatively recently as Foundational Standard Organizational Project Management (OPM).
He also published a Practice Guide earlier: "Implementing Organizational Project Management: A Practice Guide"
The ideal skill set - the PMI Talent Triangle® - is a combination of technical, leadership, and strategic and business management expertise.
Are we going to have a new certification?

I don’t think so as OPM has been there for a while and part of it is tackled in Portfolio Management as well but maybe in the future they will have a new certification, however, nothing mentioned as of now.

I don't foresee that being the case. Setting guidelines or best practices does not always equate to a certification path. There may actually be a thread in the community on this topic already. I haven't searched, it yet. If I find it, I'll link it.

Thank you dear Andrew.
The talent triangle points in that direction.
OPM was not a Foundational Standard until recently.
Alignment between project, program, and portfolio management practices with organizational strategy and objectives is on the agenda

Thank you dear for sharing dear Andrew.
OPM3, in my opinion had a different purpose.
The current strategic orientation of PMI points towards the qualification of professionals.

Luis -

PMI had OPM 3 based certified assessors a few years back but that program fell by the wayside.

At this point I wouldn't see them reintroducing it but let's see if there are any announcements coming out of the global conference related to that...

Thanks Rami, this link was very resourceful. I saw other standards I have been looking for.

My view is that, nothing is impossible, if we as project, program or portfolio managers fail to strategically influence our organizations , then PMI may have to create a certification for it, probably for the C-level guys. ...This is just my opinion, PMI may create the certification for other reasons, which I believe will be critiqued.
