Hello everybody!
First of all, I had some doubts if this topic should be here or not. So if someone thinks that it is better to move it to a different forum, please, let me know.
First of all, let me introduce me a little: I am a Telecommunication/Electrical Engineer (BSc) specialized in Digital Signal Processing (MSc). I started my career as embedded software developer in 2009 and I have been playing project management roles since 2011 (first, partial-time and since 2013 in a full-time basis). I made an internship in Netherlands (I am from Spain) in 2012 and I am currently a certified PMP by PMI (since 2017). Since more than 3 years I am managing and working in cross-european projects of telehealth, cyber security, IoT and drones, among others. Finally, I have wrote articles for this portal and PM Network about management.
Giving all these details, let's go a little more personal. Since I was a child here in Spain, one of my biggest dreams is to expend some years working in the United States (I like the country, I have been there three times for vacation, etc.). I am happy in Spain, I have a good experience, but I would love to live the experience of working in the US for some years. I have tried to dig into the bigger employment portals (Indeed, LinkedIn, etc.), applied to some job positions but without lack. I have the feeling that the situation is quite related with the working visa: I need a visa for getting a job there but I need a job to get a visa, so it is quite complicated to solve.
I am writing here because I would like to organize my "personal" project with the objective of getting a job as project manager in the US. Probably, some of you have been in my position before and you have been successfull, so I would be glad to hear your advises. I would like to have a lists of tasks that can help to getting this job like for example to obtain some specific certification (professional or language-related), to pass some exam, to get some course or additional formation, to get a job in Spain in a company with facilities at US, find a way to go into PM academia, etc. Every experience is more than welcome. After that, I will leverage of the tasks and will create my road-to-USA planning (with milestones and so on),
