How much do you work as PM?
The legal rules in Poland is to work 40hours a week.

I am asking this question as currently I am feeling I am reaching the workload peak.. I am very engaged and have emotional load to my projects so I do work overtime to make the ends meets but it is as well known that you cannot work like this for long.

PS. Especially now I became a father the 2nd time ;)

Regards,
Lukasz

Lukasz, I realise time is certainly something very precious to you, however, if you have a spare moment have a look at these PMI community blogs, written by George Freeman, sorry George, however I'm a great advocate.

Let me add to this thread the famous speech from Coca Cola CEO Brian Dyson (I could imagine that he had more on the table than the average PM practitioner).

Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them – Work, Family, Health, Friends and Spirit and you’re keeping all of these in the air.

You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four Balls – Family, Health, Friends and Spirit – are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for it.”

Work efficiently during office hours and leave on time. Give the required time to your family, friends & have proper rest.

Value has a value only if its value is valued.

Hi Lukasz,

Congrats on the new child!

I would give some thought to what Julie Ann said. Who are the members on your team and how many do you have? If you get emotionally wrapped up in your projects, you could develop a me, myself and I mentality.

You would be surprise to find that some of your team members are anxiously awaiting for you send send work their way. As a project manager, you have the ability to set the tone for the team culture. Take full advantage of that.

Good luck to you!
