Did you notice that the PMI website has a new tab?

What is your opinion about the idea of creating this new tab?

Dear Luis,

I saw the the tab you were referring to "CEO CORNER" the last time I was on the PMI.ORG website. It seems that PMI is trying to take out some of the formality associated with project management and in so doing make project management a more approachable profession. I think that PMI is practising what it preaches in that it is ensuring that adequate and relevant lines of communication exists between project managers, Chapter members and the mothership, PMI. Also PMI wants to avoid the questions of "What exactly are they doing"? and so forth and explain their vision for PMI for the future. Again we have to look at as a positive step in the right direction. Doing something is much better than doing nothing, even if you do not get it right on the first or second attempt.

Dear Daire
Thank you for participating in this reflection and for your opinion.

We agree with: "we have to look at a positive step in the right direction"

In the field of initiative I prefer the way of thinking of Joel Barker and Warren Buffett:

"A vision without action is just a dream.
Action without vision is just a hobby.
But a vision with action can change the world. "

"It takes 20 years to build a reputation and only five minutes to destroy it"

I find I don't have a lot of time to check out web sites' enhancements. I rely a lot on email notifications to be kept abreast of changes.

Having said that, I like the idea of shortening the distance between the PMI CEO and the members. I've been viewing Sunil's videos with much interest and curiosity. Will I deliberately go to the CEO's corner? Probably not. But it's good to know where all those videos are posted on the web site.
