If you wish you could check to see if PMI has presence in your country if that would make things easier;

PMI is global and available in many languages.
But if you still want to attempt it in North America then other colleagues have provided excellent advice.

I'm with Kiron, your PMP is a project in of itself, you require to map out requirements, create a timeline with a Go Live date (exam date needs to be fixed), and also manage your activities daily, no slacking allowed for PMPs
