i am conducting a literature review. and am looking for information on when change management (approx 40-45 years ago) was introduced into project management.
I have read a few articles that state 40-50 years ago, or mid century, but not reference to this timeline.
Appreciate any guidance i can receive.

Thank you
Rizwana

Rizwana -

If you are referring to a formal model for CM such as ADKAR or John Kotter's approach, it would be a little more recent, but if you are referring to the application of "good" change management principles then that would be pretty much at the same time as formal project management would have been introduced (post-WW2) as you cannot have a successful project without paying some attention to CM.

Thank you Kiron. I am looking for some literature / academic evidence of when the concept of change management was introduced. Formal PM was introduced post 1950. However, i am looking to understand when PM practices began introducing the human side (people side of change).

I have not been able to find any literature on this yet.
