I have recently do my PMP Exam, here in Guatemala City, on March 10, And I was near to win the exam, but several questions were about problems, cost overruns, conflicts with teams, and I saw a lot of answers in common, How can I answer questions regarding bad issues with (team, cost, time, schedule, resources) because in my experience we anticipate to avoid this problems, any lecture or book will be appreciated. Carlos, sad to hear you missed, but good that you know what is missing.
Experience is mainly created out of failures, if you had none, you probably lack experience. A good mistake and the pain related with it will be remembered by your brain forever and shape your future perceptions and behavior.
Longterm I would suggest to go somewhere where you are likely to make mistakes - this takes courage and risk seeking on your side. Look for challenges and adventures. Try something new every few years.
If you company makes good anticipations, somebody established these, if they are still around, ask them to become your mentor. They probably made the experiences and mistakes and can share their stories.
About books, look for books that tell stories about challenges. For example - Extreme Leadership: Lessons from Ernest Shackleton and the Endurance Expedition - Project 50, Tom Peters - Say yes to project success, Karthik Ramamurthy
