Hi,

I just finished the Basics of Disciplined Agile Online Course, and I'd like to share my thoughts:
- Very didactic course.
- Simple and clear language.
- Easy to follow as an introductory tool to DA.
- Good starting point for someone interested in DA.
- Great examples.
- Adding some activities/exercises besides the Q&A might provide additional ways for better understanding the concepts presented.
- It took me a lot less time to end the course, than expected.
- I found it a little bit expensive for members, even with the discounts received. Maybe such a tool should be free or less expensive for members, in a time DA is gaining momentum among PMI's community.

Anyone who tried it wants to share its thoughts?

I was thinking of trying the Disciplined Agile: Foundations of Agile. Is that what you took? It looks like each offering has its own prices. I saw one as low as $360CAD and one as high as €399 (for PMI members), before taxes.

Hmmm. The price can't be too low since it covers the $50USD membership and $200USD towards the CDA exam! I signed up for a French one in early June.

Hi Stéphane!

It's an introductory course called "Basics of Disciplined Agile Online Course" (not providing an exam fee), not the "Disciplined Agile: Foundations of Agile" or any sort of preparation for the CDA exam.

The basics of DA is really a "light meal" for those who need more than just a one hour webinar but don't want to do the deep dive of taking one or more of the modules of the DALSM workshop (Foundations of Lean, Foundations of Agile, Foundations of DA + Choose Your WoW!).

The latter are offered by DA partners globally and each sets their own prices for the 1, 2, 3 or 4 days offerings of the workshop combinations.

Thanks for your inputs, Kiron!

I believe the light meal is a nice metaphor for this course :)

Hi Kiron,

I also happen to see your post on https://www.projectmanagement.com/discussi...-Certifications

For CDAP, is it mandatory to undergo DALSM from REP (https://disciplinedagileconsortium.org/roadmap).

Since this particular link does not mention the training part :
https://disciplinedagileconsortium.org/CDAP, hence checking with you.

Ganesh -

Yes, to get certified you have to take a DALSM workshop from a DA partner (not a PMI REP as the partner programs are still separate).

Dear Kiron,

Maybe I may ask for your advice here. I am choosing between two basic courses now available online:
Basics of Disciplined Agile™ Online Course (200 usd) and
Disciplined Agile Scrum Master (400 usd).

I am not new to agile, I have advanced SM certification. I am thinking which course will better accommodate my need to understand better the offers and exact ways to apply DAD in my organization which is on scrum now.

Even though price is not much different, I don't have that much to invest in both. However, I am worried that Basic course could be too basic for me.

Another option, maybe I may start right away from advanced DAD scrum master course with the instructor.

Thank you!
