Dear Colleagues, can someone share with me the template for a lite project charter?
I am interested in the one which is not so bulky and can be used for small projects with low risks and costs. Ideally it should look like 1-2 page Word file with place to answer basic project charter questions.

Why not look at something like Roman Pichler's Product Canvas as a lightweight charter should fit on a single page?

Thanks, Kiron! I will check his blog and read more about Canvas.
Haven't heard about Roman Pichler. Guess, this way I am showing that I'm a novice in this topic maybe)))

Hello Ivan, I can share a template with you and you simply delete what you don't need. However, don't know how to attach a file :)

Hi Ivan,
google project canvas, there are several available.
The idea is to have 1 sheet of paper. I have seen it used with project novices.

A simple structure is from PMIEF's free resources for 10-14 year old, 7 simple questions to answer.
The purpose of a charter is to give you a understanding of what the project is and to give you authorization to do the project. It does not replace planning.

What is the project about?
What is the goal of the project?
What is in the scope of the project (e.g., what are we doing?)
Major milestones (big points of progress)
Why you are doing the project?
Benefits of doing the project?
Sponsor Approval for the Project

In our case we consider the project charter as the contract signed by all people needed to create the desire solution to gain commitment. Is no more than 2 pages in extension.
Here is what we use for all the projects:
1-Project Overview
1.1. Executive Brief.
1.2. Current State (As-is)
1.3. Future State (To-be. Reach because the solution)
1.4. Alternatives
1.5. Change targets and Functions impacted.
2. Scope Statement (work to be done)
2.1. In Scope
2.2. Out of Scope
2.3. Project Assumptions
2.4. Project Constraints
2.5. Project High-Level Risks
2.6. Client Acceptance Criteria for the Solution to be Created.
4. Project Success Criteria.
5. Project Timeline
6. Project Governance
7. Project Organization Chart.
8. Project Deliverable Approach.
9. Project Resource Workload.
