Hello all,

As a PM we use lot of tools/techniques for estimation, problem solving, etc... Is there a page or link which captures an overview of best tools/techniques being used by PMs? Could any one you share the link please. Many Thanks in advance.

PMBoK Guide ed6 has an appendix X6 summarizing the 132 tools&techniques featured across the whole guide.
Those are clustered into 6 groups, leaving 60 out of 132 ungrouped.

Indeed there are more T&T than those featured in the guide. I am not aware of an comprehensive overview. If you want to see PM related terms explained, you can look at PMI's lexicon, Max Widemans glossary or the Praxis Framework by APM.

And it is important to recognize that there is no such thing as a "best" tool or technique. One of the reasons there are so many listed in the PMBOK Guide and in other references is that context counts - what works well in one project won't in another. The judgment of an experienced PM is in picking the right tool for the right project.

Well, each tool is time tested and serves its purpose based on the given scenario each tool suits different situations, it rests on the should of PM’s experience & capability to utilize it in a most feasible manner…
