I just heard from a colleague that the release of the 7th ed. is moving out to 2022 or 2023. Has anyone else heard this and do you have details? I know there was a lot of pushback on the direction the 7th ed was taking, so was that pushback successful?

Wayne -

The last update I'd received was sometime in 2021, but I did sent a note yesterday to Elaine Lazar at PMI to get an update - if anyone knows, she should! Once I hear back from her, I'll post an update here...

Thanks Kiron, we're having a PMI rep speak at our PM Week event next week, I'll share what comes out of that as well.

Your reply is not shown. As Wayne asked, I am still hearing 2022 or 2023 for PMBOK 7th Edition. Do you have anything to offer on this very elusive subject???

Kiron, do you know if they will do a public review as other times?

Mayte --

The PMBOK 7 exposure draft was available for member comment in January-February 2020. I reviewed the documents and provided a lot of comments. I do recall seeing something on the website or an email where PMI went through the comments received.

The PMBOK 7 was a HUGE rewrite and did not look at all like the past versions. It sounded a lot like the Scrum Guide, but written by a committee.

Mayte, unfortunately till I get some feedback from Elaine, all I have is the info here: https://www.pmi.org/pmbok-guide-standards/about/current-projects which doesn't include that info...

yeah, that's the same I found. I participated in previous exposure draft review and I wondering if they will open it this time. With all the criticism that I'm seeing around I'm more curious than ever to review it.

I heard the same thing as Kiron so would be interested to see what Elaine’s feedback will be.

What was available for revision was not the PMBOK. It was the Standard for Project Management.
