Not every comment / answer posted under a topic / question is relevant / useful. Should there be a dislike option, similar to the vote option? Saving Changes...
This platform is meant for professionals and not for social media enthusiasts.
We must have an option to Report to PMI if some very very irrelevant reply comes up. I have not come across any such replies so far. Saving Changes...
Not sure if you meant dislike by Downvotes. I will prefer downvotes (something similar in Salesforce). There is already an Upvote option.
If the comment does not contribute to the discussion, or you disagreed with the comment - you can downvote. Such votes should be taken positively, and not as disrespect. Saving Changes...
The community moderators do a good job of re-classifying full posts which are in the wrong groups and deleting others which violate the policies of the community, but I'm not sure whether that review extends to the comments added to discussion threads.
I'd suggest if there is a particularly offensive response to contact the moderators directly to address it.

In addition to that Kiron mentioned, beside each comment there is a Report Button and when reported, admin look at them seriously. Saving Changes...

A “dislike option” all to itself doesn’t serve the community, as it doesn’t have any learning, experience, or growth quality. However, professionally responding to and challenging a position by “further comment” serves the community through these qualities. Additionally, challenging doesn’t necessarily mean that you disagree with something, as you may merely be furthering the learning, experience, and growth qualities of the thought.
If a comment is inappropriate, then report it; if you agree with it, then “vote it up;” if it needs refinement (in your opinion), then professionally challenge it for the benefit of all, but be open for rebuttal Saving Changes...

I don't particularly like the vote button either way. I suppose the up vote avoids simplistic written statements such a "I agree" taking up space but it doesn't add to the conversation. To me why you agree or disagree is important, it reflects another experience or you may have different reasons for coming up with the same conclusion.
Additionally, from what I understand the vote is not identified so I can't determine if the vote represents an experience respected member of the profession or a recent graduate with limited exposure. Thus I discount the votes and only pay attention to the commentary. Saving Changes...
In a professional forum such as this, I see no need. People here have a high level of experience and are generally very articulate, with the ability to put thoughts into succinct and well written expression of their thoughts. A "downvote" isn't really appropriate here since people who disagree can express themselves in a professional, positive, and productive manner.
I have used the upvote button when my response would essentially be the same thing as what the other person has already written, so in that sense it can be useful to eliminate redundant posts. Saving Changes...
I can't find a use of the "dislike" option, we can agree, disagree with a comment. I think that the site did a big improvement with the "report" button. Once I click the "report" button and I was immediately contacted by phone to understand my concerns.
However I like the "vote" option, like that I avoid to type "Agree" or add a comment that was previously done. Saving Changes...
