Given the almost infinite number of configurable software applications out there I've never seen a standard template but most companies I've worked with would either:
A) Use the software's own configuration export capability
B) Use a spreadsheet with different worksheets for different configuration sections or a simple relational database
A good option is to capture computer screen of each configuration step, with the appropriate boxes checked and choices made. To do this, use the "ImprPant" button on the keyboard. Then, include these images in an "Installation Manual". Saving Changes...
