How soon do we get the PMP exam result?

As the question says, how soon do we get the exam result and how is the grading done.

Within a minute of completing the exam you will get your result. Details about the exam can be found in the PMP exam FAQ as well as the PMI certification handbook, both of which are available at pmi.org.

I recently read somewhere that now the results take upto 5 days. Is that correct?

I appeared today and right after i submit my exam, the message popped up that the result will be shared in 48 hours. While when i checked my pmi account it states result will be shared in 5 days

I just took my test and it said it would take up to 5 days for the results

Yes, this is a recent change made by PMI to reduce the opportunity for exam fraud. Regardless of whether the exam is taken online or in person, the results will be communicated within up to five business days rather than right away.

Hi All,

Recently took PMP on October 28th 2023 and the result came out the day after.

Might be a different case for others. :)

Received a provisional score sheet within a minute or two upon clearing the PMP on Halloween. It specified that I passed however, I must wait up to 5 days for PMI due diligence. Somewhere within that time my designation and target information will update. It’s 5am, post-passing day 2. Still no update. LOL

Depends on the volume of completed exams (in person and online) which have to be verified. If it goes beyond 5 business days, contact PMI Customer Care.

Hi Kiron, I gave my exam yesterday at home, however, I missed attempting 14 questions. Is there a possibility that I have passed the PMP exam?

Based on various feedbacks, PMI has again changed the process and adjusted and optimized it.
There is still a delay in getting the results cause of the new security features implemented, but they were able to reduce that delay to a max of 48 hours/2 days.

Hi, I gave my online exam yesterday, but missed attempting 16 questions. Is there a possibility that I clear this exam?
