can anyone suggest good reference for developing PMO handbook

if a PMO handbook describes what a specific PMO is doing, it is very specific to that PMO, so there will be a wide range of handbooks.

I would see those topics covered in general:
- purpose of PMO
- authorization and governance for the PMO
- functions
- tools / databases
- processes owned, supported
- artifacts

Thanks Thomas; you are right. Its specific to the PMO. My purpose of query to have look to some to get idea about the content, şevel of details, language used and so on.

(2)The Complete Project Management Office Handbook, Third Edition by Gerard M. Hill
(3)Delivering Successful PMOs
How to Design and Deliver the Best Project Management Office for your Business by Peter Taylor
(4) PMO Principles by Roden, Eileen J. Joslin, Robert Müller, Ralf Scott, Lindsay

Setting up a PMO IS a strategic project. Therefore, treat it like that.

Start by ensuring you have a charter which reflects the common understanding of senior stakeholders on the purpose and mandate for the PMO.

I am with @Kiron comments. But just to remember you have to take into account Process, Tools to support the Process, People to run the process using the Tools.
