I was a line manager with over 20 people and I can honestly say that managing direct reports is different than managing project team members.
When you manage personnel on a project, you do it only for the duration of the project. They usually don't report directly to you. Your primary focus is on optimizing the project, not the personnel. Saving Changes...

Assuming you are referring to the PMP certification, if you were leading projects (and not just people), the experience is applicable. If not and if your application were to get audited, you'd likely get the work challenged.

My recommendation is reaching PMI´s customer support, because if you complete the application, send it, and the PMI have doubts then you will be part of the audit process between other things. And usually you are notice after you pay for the exam. Saving Changes...
