You can claim contact hours from the class, but not for taking the test or receiving the CSM credential. You can claim PDUs for training hours as soon as you finish the class, before you are officially a CSM.
As you can see by previous answers, the number of PDUs will vary. Per Scrum Alliance, the CSM class will be worth 14-16 PDUs, depending upon the hours spent in training - 2 days, 7-8 hours per day. I have a friend who took a short online, self-paced class and took a test and received his Scrum Master certificate (although not a CSM from Scrum Alliance or Scrum.org). The course was only worth a few PDUs, and was a lot cheaper.
Is your company going to be running a strict Scrum program? If not, you might look into the DASM class from PMI. While not just Scrum, you learn both agile (mostly Scrum) and lean/kanban approaches, as well as other tools to help your team improve their way of working. IMO, it's more practical and a better value, if being a CSM is not a hard requirement. Saving Changes...
