A member of the Board of Directors of a PMI Chapter intends to apply for the same position in which he served.

This person, mentioned above, organizes a Chapter event, during the election period, in which he is the main speaker.

Invites all PMI Chapter members to the event via the Chapter email.

In your opinion, does this person violate the PMI election rules?

How do you consider this behavior from an ethical point of view?

Hi Luis

yes, there are the two aspects of human community and organizational structure and processes. Both are required and have to be balanced. Emotions and rationality.

I joined PMI in 1992 and started volunteering 1998. Was involved in the creation of the Code of Ethics 2006 and served on the ERC for 6 years. The code was leading at its time, but more could be done with it after a revision. It is what it is.

A recent interview with the new CEO and President.

Dear Thomas
Thank you for sharing Pierre Le Manh's interview with us.

Let's wait and see

Here in Portugal, the Prime Minister in a hearing in the Assembly of the Republic about a Secretary of State involved in corruption scandals and embezzlement of State money stated:
- "Until now, this Secretary of State does not have a formal process in place, so I cannot dismiss her"

It's hilarious what we've gotten these days

Running for the same position is not a violation of any rule, as far as I know.
However, it may be a conflict of interest that the person used the internal resources.

Dear Abolfazl
Thank you for your comments regarding this topic

We agree with: "Running for the same position is not a violation of any rule"

The issue is to use Chapter resources (Members' Databases and zoom platform) to, during the electoral period, carry out activities in which you are the main speaker
