Now that PMBoK Guide 7th has been around for a while ... thoughts from anyone in a PMO??

Hi everyone,

I was wondering whether anyone in a PMO type of function has seen changes directly made as a result of the 7th Edition?

Some questions in my mind are:

- have you updated your project management frameworks/methodology within your company and picked up some aspects highlighted in the 7th (i.e. principles)

- did anyone explicitly update your flows to include an approach selection step (i.e. suitable approach given a project profile). Some of this was already being done of course, just wondering if the actual PMBoK 7 publication was a trigger for changes in company frameworks

- have you made any changes or updates to any internal project management course (if applicable) as a result?

Thanks very much!
(I have a love / hate relationship with PMBoK 7th still ...but that's another conversation :-) )

I have not made any changes due to the revision 7th.

Gina -

As the Seventh Edition does not provide the type of tailoring guidance which is provided in the Disciplined Agile reference materials, while it might influence folks who set organizational PM standards to step away from a one-size fits all process, it won't necessarily be directly helpful in doing so.
