Our manager wants to provide project updates for an entire team to internal stakeholders, leadership and internal business partners. Is there a standard or recommended format for this? It will be sent via email. Thanks in advance for any recommendations. Currently we have a brief overview for the team and for each project: an overview, description bulletpoints and business value bulletpoints. But it seems clunky and I was asked to get some recommendations. Saving Changes...
There are no standard formats for any project communications. While you can certainly find many good examples in the Templates section of this community or other online sources, I'd recommend starting by approaching the key stakeholders to understand what they are looking for in terms of specific information elements and level of detail. Then, take an iterative approach to present them something based on their needs and refine it over time.

Project Communications should be customized to satisfy your stakeholders needs and expectations. While you can use a readily available template as a starting point, you must re-structure and customize it to ensure it reflects what the stakeholders want to see so as Kiron mentioned, first you need to approach the different stakeholders and understand their needs.
You don't want to blindly send a report to your stakeholders with plently of information in it then discover that they didn't find it useful especially that different stakeholder groups might be interested to see different things in the report so you might end up doing two different reports: One for Leadership and another for Business Partners.
