I am a practicing architect and has been working on various architectural, industrial and residential projects since 2008. Can I take PMP ? will it open new vertical for me in my current Consultancy service profile?

1. If you can demonstrate project leadership experience across the full project lifecycle for the required number of experience months and have gained the 35 contact hours of PM-focused education then you would likely be able to take the exam.

2. Whether it is of benefit or not really depends on your career aspirations - if you wish to transition into a focused PM role, it likely would, but otherwise it will depend on whether the clients you work with perceive it as an asset or not.

I definitely agree with Kiron on both fronts. Not one can tell you whether a credential is of added value to you or not, as it all depends on your career path, plans and future goals. The credential itself is solid but whether is it a good fir for you or not, you have to evluate this.
