Recently in our organisation, the term ePMF has been frequently used acronym for our Project Management Framework. I know it as PMF, I've never heard of ePMF. Does this actually exist and if so, what is it?

Context would be helpful as there are multiple acronyms for ePMF: electronic, employee, or engineering, project, plan, or process, management forum, master file, modeling framework are all options.

Without context those are some very frequently used letters for things that exist in a lot of different project contexts and often companies like to create their own names for things as brand differentiation. That can get very confusing trying to relate local office jargon to more broadly used terms.

Apologies Keith. Instead of referring to our Project Management Framework as PMF, ppl are referring to it as ePMF, almost liking it to the ePMO

That sounds familiar. Enterprise, electronic, and e-enabled are often tacked on to imply importance or tech savvy. Directors and VPs give it a special name to take credit for creating a new thing that everyone must use.

I found it amusing in grad school to find out that so much of what my employer portrayed as our unique inventions were really standard practices rebranded. They even created their own version of 5S. An obvious downside to that is it makes communication outside the organization more difficult. Two people using different terms to describe the exact same thing has led to many heated debates between people in violent agreement.

I will write something obvious but I think it could be good ask them what both acronyms means, I did not heard the ePMF and ePMO terms before. But I worked in a company where they use acronyms for business unit or process related to project/program/portfolio management instead of using what you can find inside the PMI itself.

Most companies will brand their internal project delivery standards or methodologies with a name which is meaningful to them. Even if they purchase an "out of the box" methodology, there is still some degree of customization required to fit their needs so even if it shares the same name as a methodology used by another company it could be quite different.

It is ok. It is an organizational terminology.

Interesting discussion - I've heard of ePMO before but not ePMF, and wonder why they did name it this way. Any specific reason or just an organization's preference?
There is no widely recognized or established concept or acronym known as "ePMF" in the field of project management or related disciplines. It's possible that this term or acronym may have emerged or gained significance after that time, or it could be specific to a particular organization, industry, or context.

I haven't seen the "e" in lower case, but EPMO is usually an Enterprise Project (or Program or Portfolio) Management Office which provides services to the overall set of projects, programs and portfolios which the organization invests in.
