I've been actively studying to sit for the PMP exam. Working between all the resources and 2 different PMBOKs has been challenging and overwhelming. Is the current PMP exam geared more toward the 6th or 7th edition or alternatively, can anyone direct the best resources I should focus my attention on so I'm successful? Thank you! Saving Changes...

From what I’ve been hearing, it seems the PMP exam is still heavily based on the 6th edition but there are questions from the 7th. Here is what I suggest you do:
1) Read through the Exam Content Outline (ECO), PMBOK 6th Edition (Including the Agile Extension as lots of questions are Agile / Hybrid based) and then read the PMBOK 7th edition (it is a small book).
2) Go through Rita Mulchay’s Exam Prep book, I think its 11th edition now, but double check. This is one of the best resources for exam preparation.
3) After you are done, purchase the Simulator Package through PM Prep Cast and practice as much as you can. This is a great simulator and resource for questions that mimic the real exam.
4) If you want a course to fulfill your 35 Hours then check Joseph Phillips on Udemy. He is a PMI ATP and great instructor or check out PMI's self-paced course in the PMI Store.
If you check my LinkedIn posts, you will see one for the PMI CAPM and PMP Prep and all those references with their links are there.
Let me know if you have further questions - Good Luck.

Thank you so much. I actually purchased Study Hall earlier this am. I also have access to lots of materials from Project Management Institute from attending a boot camp experience earlier this year. Lots of practice tests, quizzes, etc… I think I’m just feeling overwhelmed with all the available data. LOL!!

Thank you!! Yes, the difference in size of PMBOK between 6th and 7th editions cannot go unnoticed. I have the 6th digital and 7th hard copy. I’ll look at your additional mentions as well.
Alternatively, you can throw in 50 bucks worth of money for the PMI Study hall subscription, get couple of mock exams completed and then will be clear in which areas your knowledge is lacking - focus on those.
Also dont underestimate some free resources - youtube has several super usefull and short recap videos for both 6th and 7th edition books, very good to refresh the concepts on high level. Saving Changes...

I know it can be overwhelming so I recommend you put a plan, cancel the noise around, and focus. Good Luck 😊

Thanks for the info. I am just starting the PMP prep but have no direction on where to start. I have ten years of experience as a QA. I am looking to transition to a TPM role. Your advice is really appreciated. Thank you. Saving Changes...
