Trying to implement Lessons Learned at my company.

Where do I even start?!? What does your process look like for when you run yours? How do you review and store these?

For every project, we do a lessons learned document, review it with the team either periodically or by the end of the project, then add it to a master document and put it on a shared folder on Dropbox that is accessible by everyone so they can access it and go through those lessons learned whenever there is a new project before it starts, or it can be reviewed by management in order to drive improvements in the organization.

Hope this helps.

Here's a link to a webinar I did for this community a few years back covering my recommendations based on learnings from multiple clients I had worked for: https://www.projectmanagement.com/videos/4...lessons-learned

*For the implementation of an effective lessons-learned management model, it is crucial to have a centralized data repository that allows documenting the experiences and learning obtained in previous projects. This repository must have a standardized format that facilitates its search and recovery.
This lesson-learned knowledge management platform will become an important facilitator to save time and effort in planning and executing future projects.

Hi Zach!
Re: "How do you review and store these?"
Actually, I learned that regardless of the collection, sorting, and filing of such,
the real challenge is getting experienced PMs and Sr. Staff to access and use them PRIOR to their work.

From 2017 when the new architecture for generative AI emerges in the organizations where I was working we are using this type of technology to access our knowledge base system (system not software system, system as a whole).
