Hi, any suggestions how I can use data contained in an internal (Company) excel file to be the source of data for the GenAI?

We currently create a 35 day menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner which is very manual. I want to provide the Gen AI with an internal file that lists all the potential ingredients to use, along with costs and nutritional information to help automate this manual process. I can do this now but the GenAI is using products and costs from the web. I want to follow the same process but use only our internal data.

Interesting. This looks more to me like it should be an in-house based app (maybe using Citizen Development), and then introduce AI to this app if you want the AI to be specific to your company internal data. I am not an AI expert, but this is my opinion on this matter.

Tableau was the first thing which came to mind, but here's a link to a survey of a number of other tools capable of handling data: https://www.polymersearch.com/blog/the-bes...20than%20later.

I would get on Chat GPT-4, the paid version, which will allow you to upload an Excel and use it within a prompt. I tried doing this in Bing Chat, but that does not allow file uploads. It does not even seem to be able to take items in the main browser window to use. I guess that's a limitation of free.

Please let us know how it goes for you!

Try GPT4All - its a desktop version of an app that allows you to download large language models directly on your desktop and it can read your own filesystem. There are a few steps involved in installation but take your time and read the Github documentation and your will have it up and running in no time.

You may try Copilot in Microsoft Excel.
