Usually it is described inside the Certification Handbook. If not then my recommendation is contact PMI´s Customer Care.

Harmeet -

As the Exam Content Outline for the PfMP is from 2013 and the Fourth Edition of the standard was published in 2017, I'd assume the Third Edition would be a more applicable reference, however, similar to the PMP exam, newer questions might get added to the exam question "pool" based on the current edition so it is probably advisable to review both.

Here is the reference list for the exam from PMI's website: https://www.pmi.org/-/media/pmi/documents/...erence-list.pdf

I did earn this credential in 2019, and while the 4th edition was already issued, the ECO was based on the 3rd edition so I did study from the 3rd edition and as Kiron rightly mentioned, it is still the case so I would personally concentrate on the 3rd edition unless a change takes place in the Exam Content Outline,

You can find my PfMP Journey notes in my blog via the below link:

Good Luck!

I asked the support team this question and got a response:
"Regarding your question about the exam standard edition, it's the 4th edition, so you can prepare properly for the exam"

but I think we will need to ask those who have recently passed

It's the Third Edition as the new 2026 ECO is exactly the same as the other one in 2013.
