Due to the advancement in AI if the inputs fed in Chatbots are enough to create a virtual Project Manager. In that scenario there is a chance of Project Manager being replaced with an AI. Saving Changes...

I don’t think the AI will replace Project Managers because while AI can provide solid output, yet, this output should be verified by Humans (PM in this case) to make a final decision.
AI will help make processes more efficient and effective but the human factor will also play an important role as well. Saving Changes...
Would you like to take directions and guidance from an AI? Most team members wouldn't and many stakeholders would prefer to engage with a human being, so the Power Skills-related activities of a PM are likely to remain regardless of how automated the Technical Skills activities are.

I'm with Rami & Kiron. Though AI will probably improve to a point where a PM will rely on and check against, in the end the PM will have the last word on any action required.
Believe PM is one of the roles in the job market to which AI can not replace. Or at least those are my $0.02 on the subject. Saving Changes...

Well, I think that AI with its capabilities in the time being won't replace Project Managers, however, with more technology advancement, and introduction of more automation (3D Printing for an example), the need for Project Managers will be less, and demand for Project Managers will decrease.

I agree with Wassim. If the parts of a building can be 3D printed they are more easily fitted together not requiring complex project management

I still am skeptical about an AI effectively reducing the people side of the equation. Just because there is a faster construction method doesn't mean aligning stakeholders around a common set of requirements will get any easier.

I dont think AI will ever replace humans, however, they can orchestrate the mundane work more efficiently and allow PMs to focus on core issue. GenAI is pretty useful for PMs especially when they lean less on SMEs for brainstorming. Try www.managesmart.au - All you need is a Project Description - Saving Changes...

I agree with Dinesh that Project Managers need to get trained in using AI tools e.g. Virtual reality apps for clients to choose the type of house they want, which then is translated automatically to the design phase of the house plans by the AI software. However there is a 'hic', will the AI app be able to consider the situation where for example the terrain to build the house is slanted? So this may still need a Project manager and engineer to apply the AI-generated design to the particular circumstances of the client. The design plans can then generate the making of the components of building the house using 3D printing. The 3D printed components of the house are then fitted together as per the project manager and engineer-modified design

AI is there from more than 50 years ago. Lot of people is using it from that time including things related to project management. Unfortunately it is becoming a new buzzword and this will jeopardize the us of it. My recommendation is learn about what AI really is. Take a look to PMI's free Generative AI Overview for PMs on-demand course. In this case, take into account that the course is about generative AI. Saving Changes...
