Hi everyone! My name is Kunal Chitnis, and I currently work as a Project Manager with a small-to-medium enterprise.
Growing up, I always wanted to do something in the Armed Forces — I was drawn to the discipline, leadership, and sense of purpose that came with it. While life took me in a different direction, those values still influence how I approach my work today.
I’m relatively new to the formal project management domain, so honestly, I’m excited to learn everything. I’ve been exposed to tools like Monday, MS Project through my work, and I’m keen to deepen my understanding of core PM tools, frameworks, and technologies to become a well-rounded practitioner.
My journey into project management started in the retail and CPG industry, where I worked on projects such as new product development, product launches, and consumer research initiatives. In my current role, I had the opportunity to lead an SAP S/4HANA implementation, which was a big learning curve but also a very rewarding experience. That project made me realize how much I enjoyed leading structured, cross-functional work — which ultimately pushed me to formalize my experience by earning my PMP certification. I’m hoping this PMI community will help me learn from experienced professionals and explore new opportunities.
One of my proudest professional accomplishments was successfully defending multiple product deletions at a major retailer, which could have resulted in the loss of nearly 45% of annual category sales. I worked closely with Sales and Marketing to reposition the brand, refine pricing strategies, and connect commercial performance with consumer insights — and we were able to turn the situation around.
Looking forward to connecting and learning from all of you..
Hi Kunal, thanks for joining us in PMI's online community!

Hi Laura! Nice to meet you. This is my answers:
My name is Gabriel Silva, I'm from Mexico and I currently serve as a Technology Leader for a company in the Real Estate sector. I am passionate about continuous improvement and staying ahead of the curve with emerging technologies like AI, Cloud Computing, and Blockchain to drive innovation.
Growing up, I dreamed of becoming a Physicist to study the Universe. However, I found that my true strength wasn't in abstract formulas, but in logic. This naturally led me to computer programming. Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated by puzzles and mazes, and software engineering allows me to apply that same passion for problem-solving in a professional way.
While I have used many tools, my favorite methodology is Kanban. I find it to be a powerful visual tool that provides transparency and helps the team focus on flow and efficiency. I also value platforms that support this, like Jira or Trello, to keep stakeholders aligned.
About 8 years ago, I participated in a government project as a Technical Lead. At the time, I didn't have Project Management knowledge, and the project failed to meet its objectives due to scope issues. That experience pushed me to learn about PM. I found the PMI and the PMBOK Guide, and I loved it. Today, I am passionate about these standard for delivering successful projects.
My proudest accomplishment is my volunteer work with the PMI. Recently, I served as the Leader for the 'Latin American Study Network.' I coordinated a team of over 40 volunteers across 29 chapters, helping members prepare for PMP, CAPM, and ACP certifications. Additionally, In addition, the team and I have promoted a continuous learning initiative focusing on disruptive trends in Project Management, specifically how to leverage Artificial Intelligence in our field.
Hi Gabriel, it's nice to meet you too! Thanks so much for joining us in PMI's online community.
It's great to learn about your volunteer work with PMI - we appreciate all that you do for the project management community. Saving Changes...

Mohammad Shahid RashidIT Project Manager| Abu Dhabi Commerical BankAbu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
My name is Mohammad Shahid Rashid, and I currently serve as a Senior Compliance Technology and IT Project Manager, leading regulatory transformation, automation initiatives, and risk‑mitigation programs within the financial services sector. My work focuses on aligning technology delivery with governance standards, ensuring operational integrity, and enabling organizations to meet evolving regulatory expectations.
From an early age, I was drawn to roles that required structure, problem‑solving, and leadership. Although I did not yet understand the discipline of project management, I was naturally inclined toward organizing tasks, coordinating people, and creating clarity in complex situations. Over time, these interests matured into a professional path centered on technology‑driven project leadership.
In my current role, I work extensively with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, Confluence, and Power BI, which support transparency, traceability, and data‑driven decision‑making. I am also expanding my expertise in cloud governance and AI‑enabled project delivery, particularly within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, as these capabilities are increasingly essential for modern program leadership.
My journey into project management was shaped by the opportunity to bridge business, technology, and regulatory functions. What has kept me committed to this profession is the ability to deliver meaningful outcomes—transforming ambiguity into structured execution, enabling cross‑functional alignment, and ensuring that critical initiatives are delivered with quality and accountability.
Among my proudest accomplishments is leading several high‑impact compliance and AML transformation programs for major financial institutions. These initiatives not only strengthened regulatory posture but also improved operational resilience and customer trust. On a personal level, I take equal pride in maintaining a strong balance between my professional responsibilities and my role as an engaged parent, particularly in supporting my daughter Nimrah’s academic and personal development.
I am pleased to join the PMI community and look forward to contributing to discussions, learning from fellow practitioners, and advancing excellence in project and program management.
