Adedotun Ajiboye Atlanta, GA, United States

PMI Fam! I’m Adedotun — a PMP-certified project manager with over a decade of experience across three continents. Nigeria gave me my foundation, the UK sharpened me, and the United States is where I’m making my boldest moves yet. My sweet spot has been the food industry, where I’ve contributed immensely to projects that truly moved the needle — and earning my PMP has elevated my game in ways I didn’t even anticipate. I am still very much in love with this profession. Since we’re getting acquainted, here’s a little more about me — drop yours in the comments! Name & Role: Adedotun, Project Manager — passionate, global, and always hungry to grow. Growing up, I wanted to be… an engineer! Turns out project management is just engineering with people — and I am absolutely here for it. Favorite PM tools: Asana, MS Project, and Smartsheet — with a growing love for data visualization tools to sharpen stakeholder communication. What drew me to PM — and kept me here? The thrill of turning chaos into clarity. But honestly? It’s the people. Every project is a human story, and that energy never gets old. 🏆 Proudest accomplishment? Building a meaningful career across three countries, making a real impact in one of the world’s most demanding industries — and still showing up every day on fire for the work. Let’s connect, collaborate, and grow together. This community just got more interesting

Tadeo Cruz México, Mexico
Hi mi name is Tadeo and i´m currently unemployed, sometimes i work as a freelancer on massive events or painting murals at Mexico City, i'm always running personal project for social media and music.
-I dreamed about being entrepenuer, pilot for the airforce and also being a celebritie. My mind likes to dream. I found myself being a communicologist so i studied Science of communications and now i'm studying a masters degree at project management.
-I am a begginer on the topic and i have no professional experience on the field, but learning about the WBS is really interesting. Jotting down all the activites and itemize each deliverable does excite me to keep going on the project.
-I've always thougt in projects. When i was a child all the time i was looking the way to write novels, comics, and creating songs. Entertainment industry has always fascinated me, and with the time i had the opportunity to look closer. I never thought on becoming a project manager, but my university gave the option to get my bachelors degree trough completing a master. So here i am, i feel like Cristobal Colón uncovering america .
-My proudest accomplishment is always keep going forward, i've never been satisfied with the knowledge that i accquired, the skill that i've learned and the persons that i've met. So being able to learn from different fields makes me proud.

Now i am here to learn the basics about project management and to get in touch with the community as a former project manager. My first goal is to get the CAPM so wish me luck.

Lisa Hogue Project Manager| None TRABUCO CANYON, CA, United States
Hi, everyone! My name is Lisa and I am currently in between roles. Most recently, I was a project manager for a software company implementing data management and automated workflow projects for global enterprises. I recently joined this community to hear from other project management professional the changes that are occurring in the profession and how I can be a more competitive candidate in my journey to find a new role.

When I was growing up I wanted to be an editor-in-chief of Simon & Schuster. Instead, fresh out of college, I worked for a large textbook publishing firm in Boston, MA, my dream job. When I moved to southern California, I had to pivot due to a lack of large publishing firms in the area. Working in publishing and managing the acquisition and development of manuscripts was very much a project management role: working cross-functionally to meet deadlines in order to hit the go-to-market deadline.

The first project management tool I ever used was Microsoft Project. I suppose I still have a soft spot for it because it was the first time I developed a full project timeline, estimating task durations, meeting with SMEs to develop a WBS. Today, I love the fluidity and agility of a good old fashioned Kanban Board. Even digitally, it has a tactile feel to it, relative friction-less compared to the complexity of more modern project planning tools. I've been experimenting building out automated workflows and while it's been fun to learn something new, it can sometimes feel cognitively burdensome.

The biggest draw to the project management role is working with a variety of stakeholders, having a bird's eye view of the project, the cognitive gymnastic involved in solving problems, managing conflict, assessing risks, allocating resources, forecasting, and, finally, as a completionist-type person, closing out the project and conducting a thorough lessons learned to take advantage of a continuous improvement mindset. But truly, I like working with people to solve complex problems and pulling everyone to the finish line.

What keeps me in the profession is its challenges. The work suits me. The role is engaging, dynamic, ever-evolving, and is the perfect outlet for my intellectual curiosity, relationship-centric nature, and the ability to solve problems.

My proudest accomplishment professionally was inheriting a stagnant project during my last employment role. The project was off-the-rails: over budget with a client who was never told "no." When the project finally closed, a colleague credited me for the project's success. I was the third project manager to be assigned the project but the only one to instill scope discipline and manage a thorny client.

Whenever I feel frustrated with my job search, I remind myself that I am capable of doing hard things and that the right role within the right organization and with a great team is out there waiting for me.

Amani Kway Global Health Dar-es-salaam, 2, Tanzania, United Republic Of
Hello everyone,
My name is Dr. Amani Joseph Kway, and I am a Medical Doctor, Public Health Specialist, and Project Management Professional (PMP®) based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. I have over 10 years of experience managing and implementing donor-funded public health programs, clinical research studies, and health systems strengthening initiatives across Tanzania. My work has involved collaboration with organizations such as USAID, PEPFAR, CDC, NIH, Johns Hopkins University, and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
When I was growing up, I wanted to become a doctor. Having witnessed the impact of HIV/AIDS on my family and community, I was inspired to pursue a career dedicated to improving health outcomes and serving vulnerable populations. That dream eventually expanded into public health leadership and project management.
Some of my favorite project management tools include Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Trello, Asana, and Power BI. I am also interested in learning more about advanced portfolio management platforms, AI-powered project management solutions, and data visualization tools that support evidence-based decision-making.
What drew me to project management was the realization that even the best health interventions require strong planning, coordination, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and execution to achieve meaningful impact. What has kept me in the profession is the opportunity to transform ideas into measurable results that improve people's lives.
One of my proudest accomplishments has been coordinating mobile HIV testing and linkage-to-care services for key and vulnerable populations in Tanzania, contributing to increased access to lifesaving health services. More recently, earning my PMP® certification while advancing my career in public health has been a significant professional milestone.
I look forward to connecting with fellow project professionals, learning from your experiences, and contributing to this vibrant community.
Best regards,
Dr. Amani Joseph Kway, MD, MSc PH, MPM, PMP®
