chenar Mahmood Program Management| MPI Sulaimaniyah, SU, Iraq
Greetings, PMI community,

My name is Chenar Jamil Mahmoud, and I am a PMP-certified senior operations and project leader based in Sulaymaniyah, Kurdistan Region, Iraq. My professional foundation is in Civil Engineering, and over the past 15+ years I have progressed through supply chain, project and portfolio management, and into industrial plant leadership across the oil and gas and heavy industrial sectors.

I currently serve as Plant Manager and Expansion Project Lead at Metanationoil, where I direct the full P&L of a 1,000 TPD refinery while leading a $12.5M CAPEX brownfield expansion. Balancing live operations with major capital delivery has sharpened my focus on risk management, stakeholder alignment, and disciplined execution under constraints.
Previously, I led a $10M+ project portfolio at Penjwen Company, where I established a PMO and reporting framework, and served as General Manager of Industrial Operations and Supply Chain at Hemn Group in the cement industry. These roles shaped my approach to governance, procurement strategy, and operational performance.

My credentials include an MBA (American University of Iraq–Sulaimani), a BSc in Civil Engineering, PMP, Oracle Primavera and Microsoft Project certifications, NEBOSH IGC, and ISO specialist qualifications (9001, 14001, 45001, and others), along with HAZOP expertise

I work fluently in Kurdish, Arabic, and English.
What draws me to project management is the opportunity to turn complex, high-stakes plans into measurable results, particularly where safety, schedule, and cost must be managed together.

I am here to learn from this community, share lessons from brownfield and industrial projects in emerging markets, and connect with peers working in energy, infrastructure, and operations.
I look forward to the exchange of ideas and would welcome connecting with fellow members.

Best regards,
Chenar Jamil Mahmoud, PMP

Khang Tran Program Management| Amazon.com Escondido, CA, United States
Hi everyone! I'm Tommy Tran, a newly certified PMP based in San Diego County, and I'm excited to join this community.

I spent almost four years at Amazon in San Diego, first as an Operations Manager and then as a Multi-Site Environmental Manager. In that role I ran environmental compliance programs across 20 sites in San Diego and Orange County and supported 120 more remotely. I led sites through regulatory inspections (we passed 7 of 8 agency audits), rewrote stormwater plans at scale, and presented KPI and compliance reviews to leadership. Looking back, much of that work was project management: competing deadlines, many stakeholders, and no room for error.

Earning my PMP this October was my way of formalizing those skills. I'm now exploring my next opportunity in program/project management, operations, or sustainability and compliance, either in San Diego or remote.

I'd love to connect with other PMs, especially anyone in the San Diego area or working in government, sustainability, or operations. I'm happy to swap stories about the transition into PM roles, and I'm always open to hearing about new opportunities. Feel free to reach out!

Ingridy Nicoleti Foltran Program Management - Project Engineer| Garver Corpus Christi, TX, United States
Hi everyone! My name is Ingridy Nicoleti Foltran, and I’m a 23-year-old Brazilian civil engineering graduate working as a Project Engineer on Garver’s Water Team in Corpus Christi, Texas.

I support more than 12 multidisciplinary infrastructure projects across the Coastal Bend in Assistant and Deputy Project Manager capacities. My work includes construction administration, client and contractor coordination, schedules, budgets, contracts, and public bidding, primarily for municipal water and wastewater projects.

My path brought me from Osasco, Brazil, to the United States on a full Division I volleyball scholarship. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with Honors from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, balancing engineering studies, athletics, work, and student leadership.

What drew me to project management was discovering how much I enjoy bringing people and priorities together. I love understanding the bigger picture, organizing complex work, and helping teams move from discussions to decisions and action. Working on water infrastructure makes that especially meaningful because the projects serve real community needs.

I use Microsoft Teams, Planner, Excel, and Bluebeam, and I’m interested in learning more about automation and tools that improve project tracking and communication. I’m also preparing for my PMP exam and look forward to learning from this community’s experiences.

One of my proudest accomplishments is building a career that allows me to contribute to communities here while supporting my family in Brazil. Professionally, receiving Garver’s Texas Water Regional Team People’s Choice Award just six months after joining the team was particularly meaningful because the recognition came from colleagues.

Outside work, I serve as Vice President of the Coastal Bend WEAT–TAWWA Chapter, supporting professional engagement within our regional water community.

I’d love to connect with others working in infrastructure, construction, and water—or anyone willing to share advice for someone growing in project management. Looking forward to learning from you all!

Narmin Valiyeva Baku, Azerbaijan

Hello everyone — I’m Narmin Valiyeva.

I’m a finance-native Project Manager specializing in business transformation and financial systems. I previously served as Regional Finance Manager at AMOS Group (EMEA) and I’m now looking toward global PM work.

I didn’t have one job title in mind. I was the child who wanted everything in order — and who liked putting scattered pieces together so they finally made sense. I just didn’t have the words “project manager” for it yet.

I work with Asana, Jira, Miro, and Excel. I’m also exploring AI-assisted PM workflows (planning, documentation, synthesis). I’d like to go deeper into programme-level tools used in large international organizations. Seventeen years in finance. I kept seeing the same thing: systems don’t fail first — people and process do. I stayed because I get to do both: manage the system, lead the people, and turn chaos into clarity.

Proudest accomplishment: Professionally — standing up the financial governance of a €3M France–Azerbaijan academic partnership from scratch, and bringing every key milestone in on time under a bilateral framework. Personally — earning my PMP (Above Target) and choosing to put that people-and-systems craft at the center of my next chapter. Looking forward to connecting with you all and hearing your stories.

Your name and your current role
Hi, I'm Makarand Gadgil, a PMP-certified professional with 25+ years of experience. I’m currently a Senior Manager at Syrma SGS Technology Limited in Bengaluru, India
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I dreamt of becoming a Astrophysicist when I was growing up, however considering the opportunities available in this filed are limited, I took up electronics engineering.
What are your favorite project management tools and technologies? Or ones that you’d like to learn more about?
I bridge engineering and governance, relying on Vivado and Synopsys Saber for hardware simulation, alongside frameworks like Agile methodologies .
What drew you to the project management industry? What's kept you in it?
Designing aerospace, industrial, and commercial hardware drew me to PM. Aligning cross-functional teams to bring critical systems to market keeps me engaged, balancing technical excellence with strategic execution, global compliance, and cost optimization.
What's your proudest accomplishment (personal or professional)?
Professionally, leading various complex projects to success gives me immense pleasure.
Personally, I like to stay fit by practicing Yoga, regular exercise and spend quality time with my family during off work hours. I also do volunteering for social welfare activities.

Greetings Everyone, I’m Rami. My background is in Structural Engineering and I have more than 19 years of experience in project management leading Construction and Real Estate Development Projects. Over the course of my career, I worked with reputable organizations and clients both nationally and internationally and been deployed on high profile projects across the Arab Gulf Region, Middle East, China and currently in Vancouver, Canada.

Besides working as a full time Senior Projects Manager with a consulting firm out of British Columbia, Canada and holding multiple key volunteer positions with global organizations, I am also the Founder/Executive Coach at RMK Coaching.

Growing up, I've always wanted to be a surgeon and while my high school grades would have allowed me for a full scholarship, yet, I wasn't able to leave to go study overseas at the time due to some personal circumstances.

My transition from Engineering to Project Management was accidential but smooth at the same time. I got attached to Project Management due to the non-routine nature of the field and the fact that is challenging most of the time. I function best under pressure and enjoy challenging work and I have lots of accomplishements both personal and professional to be proud of.

On a personal level, I am passionate about Personal/ Professional Development. On my free time, I regularly workout, play basketball and enjoy the outdoors. I like trying new restaurants and different foods.
Hello, everyone!

My name is Felecia, and I’m excited to join PMI’s online community!

My background is in healthcare operations and environmental services leadership, including managing teams, coordinating multiple locations, and supporting process improvement and facility transitions. I’m also serving as the project manager for GO WORK, a developing platform focused on connecting workers and employers in Liberia West Africa.

I recently completed my Master of Science in Management with a specialization in Project Management at UMGC, and I’m preparing for the PMP exam. My experience bringing people together, solving operational challenges, and turning plans into results drew me to project management. Seeing how that work improves people’s lives keeps me motivated.

I use Excel for task tracking, budgets, and project reporting, and I’m interested in learning more about Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, and Agile tools.

One of my proudest accomplishments is completing my master’s degree while balancing professional responsibilities and raising my children. That journey strengthened my determination and commitment to lifelong learning.

I look forward to connecting with you, learning from your experiences, and contributing to this community!.
