Hello everyone,
My name is CristinaCastañeda, and I currently hold the position of Project and Planning Manager at an structural steel engineering and construction company. As a child, I always dreamed of becoming a civil engineer. I was fascinated by large structures and bridges, and I spent hours building models and reading about iconic constructions around the world.
In my daily work, I use several tools that I consider essential for project management in the construction sector. My favorites include Microsoft Project for scheduling and timeline tracking, Primavera P6 for managing complex projects and resource planning, AutoCAD, Revit and Tekla for structural design and modeling, Bluebeam Revu for document review and construction collaboration, and Procore for end-to-end construction project management. I would like to delve deeper into data analysis and management tools such as Tableau and Power BI, which allow for better data visualization and understanding.
I was attracted to the project management industry because I have always enjoyed planning and organizing, especially in the context of large-scale constructions and structures. The idea of taking a vision and transforming it into a tangible reality through the coordination of resources, timelines, and people is very gratifying to me. What has kept me in this industry is the satisfaction of seeing successful projects that positively impact the company and our clients. Additionally, the constant opportunity to learn and face new challenges keeps my passion for this profession alive.
One of my most significant professional achievements was the development of a construction management and tracking system in our company. This system significantly improved the efficiency of our projects, allowing for more accurate progress tracking and better coordination among work teams. On a personal level, my greatest achievement has been setting an example for my daughter with my daily effort and perseverance, demonstrating that with dedication, great goals can be achieved.
I hope this presentation has given you a better idea of who I am and what motivates me in my career as a Project and Planning Manager in the structural steel construction sector. I am excited to continue working with all of you and to keep achieving great milestones together.
Thank you very much for your attention
Hi Cristina, thanks so much for sharing with us! It is great to learn more about you and your professional journey.
I would love to hear about the bridges and buildings that inspired you; I certainly experienced a moment of awe at the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

En realidad, la construcción de estructura metálica que más me ha conmovido ha sido la Torre Eiffel, es atemporal, moderna y evidentemente única.

Hi, I'm Sireesha. I worked in IT for many years and currently unemployed. I am actively looking for work that's why I am here on PMI to hone my skills and gain volunteer experience.
As a kid I wanted to be either a doctor or teacher. I worked as a substitute teacher a few years ago but that didn't go as I planned. And then I realized maybe I was destined to do IT roles (Business Analyst, QA Engineer).
Long story short, I had to start all over again starting with IT clerical role, Customer service representative, Help desk support.
My favorite project management tools or methodologies include agile, scrum, hybrid approach. I haven't used kanban. That is something I would like to learn.
I worked in several IT roles and I understand the Project development life cycle that's why I am interested in learning more about the Project Management role.
I don't have any big accomplishments. I graduated high school, college, worked. They all are accomplishments but not astounding accomplishments but I'm happy with how far I've come along. Looking forward to make great connections on PMI.
Welcome, Sireesha! You're in the right place; we're happy to have you as part of the PMI community! Saving Changes...
